The Ninja, Moonlight, is seeking revenge for his father’s death, and fights his way through several stages for his quest of vengance.
It’s very pleasing to see, enemies are quite detailed, as well as bosses, this is a bit of a contrast to the slightly monotonous backgrounds. Anyway, the attack animations are pretty awesome once you start getting some power-ups, like a ninja plus two ghosts mimicking his movements with the very bright katana powerup, with all the enemies on screen, I find myself wondering if this game slows down, ever.
For the most part, you will barely hear the music, and I recomend not turning it up, less the death music burst your eardrums, or Moonlight’s grunts when he swings his katana. What I could hear, reminded me of Legend of Kage, which doesn’t have such bad music for an NES game.
In more ways than one did this remind me of Legend of Kage, the system is quite similar; swing katana, space high jumps, millions of evil ninjas trying to kill you. Of course, it does have some other qualities, better survival, more common power-ups, ghost allies etcetera, as well as being longer with excellent boss battles.
If you’re into difficult, then you would love this, if you’re not, then you would hate it. It’s a very good platformer, but offers a challenge, I’ll let your preferences choose the recomendation.
