Hints and speculations are hard to comprehend sometimes. But yesterday during a interview between Nis America’s Nao Zook and RPG Gamer, it’s safe to confirm that we might be seeing a sequel to the Disgaea franchise on the Nintendo DS in the future.

The interview was relating towards franchise movements onto the next-generation consoles, and where sequels will take place. When portables were mentioned, a reader’s question popped out for Nao Zook.

(Reader Question) Any chance of Disgaea on the Nintendo DS?

Nao: Let me just say this… you can look forward to it!

While the response was vaguely said, Nis America will probably work on a DS counterpart in the later future. So don’t expect any serious confirmation or details this year.

Nis America is a subsidary to the Japanese software company, Nippon Ichi Software Inc. which established it’s NA operations in 2003. They are famous for US publications of games such as Disgaea and Atelier Iris. We can hope that the innovation of the Wii and DS can encourage them to create projects for the systems in the near future.
