Xbox 360 owners hyping for a sequel to Geometry Wars might fall disappointed, because a sequel is underway, but it’s for the Nintendo Wii and DS. According to the latest issue of Nintendo Power, Geometry Wars Galaxy will be arriving this coming fall.

Instead of being a downloadable game, the transition leads the developer to create a full-fledge sequel with a single-player campaign and multiplayer options. Details are very minimal, but the game utilizes the Wiimote and DS touchscreen/stylus to take controls of your space craft through space and to defend the galaxy. Galaxy will not only feature the single/multiplayer options, but it’ll take the content from the original game as well.

The original Geometry Wars was a hit success on the Xbox Live Arcade, but can it’s sequel fair well in retail stores? Wait till fall to find out!
