Nintendo UK has just announced they have reached the 3 million sales mark with the Nintendo DS in Britain. This data came from Chart-Track, and independent-researcher, how added up the numbers of both the regular and Lite models.

David Yarnton, general manager of Nintendo UK said: “It’s a great testament to the strength of the DS hardware and software range available, that just as Nintendo DS has passed its second birthday here in the UK, it reaches such a landmark sales figure. With many more Touch! Generations games launching in 2007, Nintendo DS and Wii will continue to be the main driving forces behind the expansion of the video game market this year.”

Back in January, Nintendo of America announced more than 10 million ever since the launch of the portable. At the time, there were 35.61 million sales, all aded up from the following: Americas: 10.18 million, Japan: 14.43 million, and 11 million in Europe.
