Review

Pit the R-Type Final and the Force against the Bydo Empire.

Third Lightning really pushes the SNES to the max, and is simply gorgeous. Everything moves smoothly, and only adds to the experience. Everything seems to be similar to R-Type, but with some major graphical updates, and quite a bit more polish.

It doesn’t do half bad with the music, and brings it off pretty well, especially the creepy music in the second stage. There is no  The fun stops there, I’m afraid, they sound effects sound like they’re affected by age, as if they were an NES game instead of a SNES game.

Like other shooters, and especially like it’s predecessors, R-Type III is pretty standard. It is similar to the first R-Type, it has a few special feature unique to it, like hyper wave canon and such, but overall, it’s similar. Though it is still a fun and challenging game.
