Wii Outselling PS3 3-to-1 in Japan

Recent figures from Famitsu publisher, Enterbrain, show that Nintendo’s beloved new console is outselling the PS3 3-to-1. Kind of makes sense if you ask me, seeing how much the Japanese love their DS consoles!

Enterbrain’s figures show that Nintendo sold about 405,000 Wii units last month, while Sony sold around 148,000 units of the PS3.

The other major game video data source in Japan, Media Create, is reporting this weeks sales figures show that the gap is even greater, with 83,754 Wii consoles sold compared to just 19,996 PS3s. That means that this week the Wii is outselling the PS3 4-to-1!
Who knows what the sales figures will look like for the PS3 when it releases in Europe next month, but I don’t think they’ll get anywhere near the Wii sales figures.
