Nintendo’s Taiwan sales agent, Hakuyu, has confirmed that the Wii consoles will not hit the Hakuyu market before the Chinese New Year. As a reaction to this, retailers are now increasing their orders of the DS Lite stock in order to take advantage of upcoming holiday shopping demand.
The agent reported that the orders are expected to exceed NT$100 million (US$3 million) during January. Hakuyu mentioned that despite the fact Japan is shipping 20,000-30,000 unites of NDS Lite from Japan, the numbers will not meet the strong demand.
At these times, the Wii console has been sold by private importers at outragious prices. Those products have been sold out as well. The featured article can be found here: DigiTimes
