According to the official Nintendo Australian website, at the Midway Games winter event a Mortal Kombat game was announced for DS with Shaun Himmerick as the producer.

Some details about Armaggedon for the Wii were also made available, including new screenshots, the inclusion of endurance mode from the PSP version, and return of Khameleon. Before the event ended, Midway reported that more Mortal Kombat games were to be released on the Wii.

Midways says for the Wii, but does this mean the actual Wii console or the Virtual Console? I’ll leave you with that question.
