Review

Mario Kart 64 is a brilliant racing game for the Nintendo 64. One that requires both skill and luck will leave you playing for hours on end. Be cautious of the blue shells, they’re a real pain.

This is simply beautifull, it appears that it puts the 64’s hardware to good use to make the game pleasant on the eyes. Same goes for the music and of course, the sound effects. The controls seem solid, if not a bit too sensetive for my tastes, especially when drifting is involved. Game play is why this whole thing is so fun, as you have a variety of items at your choice in which to best any opponents, from bannana peels to the ever so great “Lightning Bolt”. If you bring a few friends, you could spend an evening playing this.
