Review
From the moment I started the game, I was in awe. When you start up, instead of normal, static logos, I got to see a bright flashing “SOCCER†Title. [Wait, this is Europe, shouldn’t it be “Football†instead?] I then got to play this beautiful game. It may look nothing like Fifa 200X, but back in the 80s, this was top quality.
I began the game, and wanting to get into the action quickly, I chose all the default options. Graphics are better than most of the stuff I’ve seen for the NES, the game really churns out the sprites, and the sprites themselves have got 8 directions to face, rather than 4. Sound is great, having music for the title, gameplay and even for the team select and options menu, and let us not forget the game’s sound effects, which, for the most part, are not just annoying beeps. Controls are the best, allowing you to move and kick in eight directions. Though the game is unrealistic, as the default team is USA, and I won.
