Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine spells Puyo Puyo (They still even have Carbuncle). In this puzzle game, from the top falls down two colored puyo/beans which are adjacent to each other. You can switch them round so they can either be vertical or horizontal, and let them fall into a place of your choosing. With skill, or perhaps luck, you can get four of one type connected, in any shape, as long as they are all vertically or horizontally adjacent to one another.

The game boasts some nice, but simple graphics, and character portraits for all of the different robots. I really love the background music, especially the exercise mode music. Gameplay is addictive, which seems to be a usual for puzzle games, couple that with it’s simple and intuitive game controls and you have an extremely great game. If you want just one puzzle game, I recomend this over Colums.
