GAME highlight Wii Shortages (again!)

GAME, the UK’s biggest video game retailing chain, is reporting that there are major Wii hardware, software and accessories shortages for the console’s launch in the UK on 8th December.

The company has said that they are not receiving as many copies of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess as they are Wii consoles, and that they are also expecting a shortage of Nunchuck attachments for use with extra controllers, and the extra controllers themselves. They have even said that they expect some customers to only be able to pick up a Wii (inc. Wii Sports).

To help overcome these problems, GAME are banning software and accessory purchases without the purchase of a Wii console come launch day. This seems a sensible move by GAME, but still will not make up for the lack of numbers of software and accessories. It is also worth noting that they have said that all software preorders are null and void.
Good luck getting what you want on Friday. My fingers are crossed for all of you!
